Raised in Clearwater, Florida, Marvin attended Jackson State University before transferring to and graduating from Florida State University. While attending Florida State, Marvin enlisted in the Florida Army National Guard and served 8 years, including a tour in Mosul Iraq. Upon the completion of his service, Marvin was encouraged by his leaders to pursue a career in Human Resources due to his
"team first always" mentality and his ability to build relationships with people from all walks of life.
    Marvin has 10+ years of Human Resources experience, with his first role being a Corporate Recruiter for the 4th largest automotive group in North America. After several years of progressive HR experience in the automotive industry, while living in Denver and San Diego, Marvin relocated to Tampa where he spent several years as a Sr HR Business Partner for a multi-national manufacturing corporation.
     As Director of People & People, Marvin is responsible for serving as a strategic human resources partner to all levels of leadership within the company as well as serving as a brand ambassador and People’s "champion" by overseeing operational leadership development and management training. Marvin has worked to create a collaborative environment where operations and HR work cohesively and efficiently
to solve problems, provide support for employees, and continuously push the business forward.
In his time off, Marvin enjoys both watching and participating in any form of competition, traveling internationally, and his main hobby is photographing people and nature. Marvin is currently a Board Member for the Tampa Chapter of the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources.
